Testing
Don't get too excited now! Even though your car appears finished, it's essential to conduct several tests on it before taking it out on the road for racing with friends, family, or other cars. The following tests, referred to as "pre-tests," are crucial in assessing the condition of your vehicle and determining whether or not it is truly ready for action.

1. The Remote Test
Before attempting to drive your car, it's essential to verify that your remote is functioning correctly. To check if your remote is properly connected to the power source, retrieve the battery snap and attach it to your battery. Without turning on the chassis, press all four buttons on the remote: forward, backward, right, and left. If the remote emits a red glow with each button press, it indicates a successful connection.
If your remote is not functioning as expected, revisit the wiring and battery connections to ensure everything is properly soldered. Otherwise, congratulations! You're ready to proceed to the next test.

2. The Steering Test
To activate the steering in your remote-controlled car, begin by inserting four AA batteries and flipping the switch located on the chassis. If the batteries are correctly oriented and the wires are properly connected, the indicator light will illuminate red, signaling that your circuit is ready to communicate with the remote. Next, test the left and right steering functions by pressing the L and R buttons on your remote.
If the tires do not turn, this may indicate issues with the wiring or the tires themselves. For wiring issues, ensure all connections are securely soldered in the correct locations. If the tires are not functioning, they may be too large, too heavy, or improperly attached. Another potential issue that can arise, should the steering gears detach during testing, please refer back to the gears section for proper reattachment.

3. The Driving Test
Now that your remote and steering are properly configured, it's time to get your car in motion! Ensure that your remote, batteries, and car body are connected, then begin by gently moving your car forward and backward without turning using the F and B keys on your remote. Please note: if you are using the remote's original antennas extensions, you may need to move alongside your car to maintain a strong connection.
If your car operates smoothly over long distances in both directions, you're ready for the final test! If you encounter issues with movement, such as the rubber band slipping off or excessive friction, please revisit the connecting gears section to install the correct size gears or add in placeholders for barriers. If the car is unresponsive, check the wiring to ensure all circuits are properly connected.

4. The Practice Test
Congratulations on reaching this stage in your testing! You are now prepared to take your car for its first actual test run. Please find a private, open area with a flat surface suitable for the car's movement and tire type, ensuring that weather conditions are optimal. As you begin driving in any direction, monitor for any inconsistencies with gears or wiring; if issues arise, return to these sections to make necessary adjustments.
If the car operates smoothly, you are ready to take it out in public for racing! Best wishes on your remote control car journey from here, and for tutorials on designing car covers, feel free to click here. Thank you!
